With nut allergies increasing and schools becoming a strict nut free zone, it’s hard to know what little extra to put in the children’s lunchboxes. These are highly nutritious and something a little different. Enjoy!
Ingredients
For the coating:
- 30g sunflower seeds
- 25g (1/4) cup oats
- For the filling:
- 1 cup pitted dates – chopped up small
- 1 cup oat flakes
- 60g (1/3) cup raisins
- 125ml apple juice – not from concentrate
- 60g sunflower seeds
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 orange – zest of
Instructions

Blend all ingredients for coating together in a food processor and put aside.

Blend all filling ingredients together, roll into little balls and cover with the coating above.
Recipe Notes
Alternative:
If you have an intolerance to sunflower seeds, try substituting them with pumpkin seeds.
