Christmas is all about having fun so the last thing you want is stress rearing its ugly head. If you feel a row brewing or suddenly everything seems to be too much, the secret is to take a few moments to yourself and breathe deeply. Make yourself comfortable and then take 10 long, slow deep breaths. As you inhale, hold your breath for 3 seconds and then breathe out in one easy exhalation. This will calm, steady and clear your mind in any stressful situation. It can also help you feel energised and more in control.
Another great tip that I learnt in yoga, is to lie on the ground or your bed and put your feet up on the wall. Yes you probably look silly but who cares, close the door! The positive effect is that you reenergise. The first a few times you do this, you will feel a rush of blood to your head.
